Solitude

It was by a lake in the middle of nowhere in Greenwood, that I could feel the presence of Allah. I had moved out a beautiful home in a lovely quiet neighborhood, but out of a toxic situation. To find myself living in a 2-bedroom RV in the countryside of Greenwood.

Where we had to cross the field to go to the bathroom or take a shower. May even see a fox or deer on the way.

But it was there I felt the rays from the sun. It was there that I felt the cool breeze brush against my face and It was there that I can hear The Creator tell me that everything would be okay. That He had not left me and that He would restore it all. Yes, it was uncomfortable and even inconvenient at times. But it was oh so necessary.

Being there brought a since of peace that I had never experienced. It brought a calmness and a quietness that I had longed for. Me and baby were there for a total of 2 months before Allah sent our next place of residence. And to be honest it bittersweet when it was time for to move.

There would be hours that I would just sit by the lake and listen to the birds sing. With not a care in the world. No traffic noise, no people talking, no kids playing. Just me and nature.

This was time that I started my self-reflection. This was the time that I started to set my boundaries. This was the time that I found a portion of me that had been missing for 6 years and, but I also was introduced to a portion of myself that I had never known.
